ABOUT
Because all of the children at the Ghana Make a Difference (GMAD) home have come from dire circumstances many of them had never been to school. The GMAD Academy of Learning was created so we could better meet the needs of the kids who were being brought to the GMAD children’s shelter and to accommodate some of the children locally who also have unique circumstances. Our converted "chicken coop" school served us well for many years, however, more kids are learning outside of this school (under the shade of a tree or pavilion) than inside of it and there are still so many more kids in the area that aren't going to school. The time is now to make this school happen! Unlike most schools in Ghana, this will be a unique learning center. Our proven tech-centered, learn at your own pace, curriculum will be improved upon. Our capacity will be increased by almost 150% while only increasing our costs by 40%. There will be a dedicated special needs classroom, library & tech room, sewing & vocational training room. Payment 1 of 3 has been made and construction has started! The 2nd payment is due in February and the expected completion is in July of 2026. We are still fundraising and finding sponsors for several classrooms. This classroom, "The People's Classroom" will be sponsored by the folks who contribute to this fundraiser! This school will be an impact machine that we'd like you to be a part of! Donate to sponsor this classroom! THE GOAL: $25,000 to fully sponsor the construction for this classroom. If we hit $30,000 then we will have covered the teachers salary for two years in this classroom! An implied goal is to raise the money so that there is no pause in construction. |
