We Need a New School
|
In 2017, when GMAD was given a certificate to start our own school, we didn’t have a place to hold classes, so we quickly converted our chicken coop into a schoolhouse. The chicken-coop school has served us well, but it is loud, has become crowded, and lacks the tools for greater learning.
A distinguished architect in Washington, Troy McOmber, has agreed to design and help build a new school for GMAD. Troy has selected a small team of volunteers from his firm that have drawn up plans for the school. |
Earlier this year, Troy and his wife, Jema, traveled to Ghana where they met with our in-country directors, surveyed the land, held meetings with local contractors and tradesmen, and visited other schools around Ghana.
The new school will serve children during the day and provide vocational training for adults at night. The evening vocational training classes will include detergent manufacturing, cooking, barbering, and sewing instruction. |

Help us build it!
The U.S. average home price is $320,000. For less than this, we can build and furnish a school that will put thousands of children on the path to self reliance. |
Your contribution WILL make a difference.
