Many children who are brought to the GMAD Children's Shelter, after having been rescued from slavery or abandonment, have never attended school before! Education becomes their ticket to being self-reliant having a bright future. This scholarship fund is used to help older children with their trade school and higher educational pursuits. Our social workers and staff encourage and help scholarship recipients meet the requirements to maintain their scholarship.
Introduction taken directly from the contract signed between the student and GMAD:
"Ghana Make A Difference (GMAD) innately believes that education, as one of it's core values is the door to opportunities in life. For this reason, GMAD will continue to seek educational sponsorship for people who cannot pay for their own education, however, have the desire to be educated in a particular field, discipline or acquire a skill. GMAD educational sponsorship is powered by some benevolent donors who give their widow’s mite to support the program. In that same spirit, we entreat all beneficiaries to uphold their commitments." |

Children's Shelter
Children rescued from slavery, abandonment, or those that have special needs are being cared for at GMAD. For the first time ever, the adults around them have their best interest in mind. The kids learn, play and thrive while social workers reintegrate them into society.

Medical
Each year, 4 medical missions take place, hosted and organized by GMAD. Dental, Eye and two surgical missions. Hundreds of people obtain their long awaited, life changing surgery! For better care, we have a medical clinic at GMAD that is operational year round. |
Education
Most children that get rescued and brought to GMAD have never attended school before. At GMAD children learn at their own pace using technology. Each child gains the practical know how of computer and english literacy, among other important essentials.
