A home that includes food, shelter and physical, mental and emotional nurturing while trying to reintegrate them with their biological family or find them a new adoptive family. |

When I knew for sure that we were going to travel to Ghana in Africa, I really wanted to have the opportunity for a humanitarian effort, to help my kids get their hearts involved in the country. My dad has been working with The Hofman’s at their newly built children’s home, Ghana Make a Difference, and suggested we get in contact with them about a project idea.

Romney Institute of Public Management: Multidisciplinary Group Tackles Projects in Ghana
10 November 2015 Before departing for the Romney Institute’s annual study abroad in Ghana this April, Marriott School students were given a challenge: see with African eyes and hear with African ears. The students, a multidisciplinary team made up of twenty-five MPA, MBA, and MAcc majors, took that task to heart, spending three weeks working on various management projects in the African nation. This was the largest cohort to ever participate in the annual trip, which was started in 2004. “I worked with an orphanage called Ghana Make a Difference,” says Rachel Henrie, second-year MAcc student. “We helped revise the organization’s accounting system. It impacted me to know that what I’m studying can be a really good opportunity to serve people.”

Orphans Cake Foundation Celebrates Christmas with Ghana Make A Difference Children
Over 200 orphans were treated to a real Christmas Buffet and other socializing activities at the Tesano Baptist Church on Christmas Day. The orphans who were drawn from various branches of the Church expressed their joy on the day of Jesus Christ's birth and they really felt at home. Nana Kyei Manu, Media Relationa Director of OCF said this is the third in the series of annual events to share the yuletide with the under privileged. |
